La Tasca: a Pop-Up Restaurant
After four successful events (Gastro:Pop-Up, a sold-out, beer-pairing event in Downtown Los Angeles and three food truck takeovers on Abbot Kinney in Venice, L.A Arepa Bar), Alejandra found the perfect location on the Westside and turned it into a “Tasca”. It was a great evening of food, wine, and live music!
In Caracas, where Alejandra lived most of her life, tascas (or taverns) are everywhere; amazing food, wine, and music are always involved. This was her inspiration! She made a duo of sangrias, a white and a red, to complement a 6-course tapas-style tasting menu. Traditional Spanish dishes were showcased and flavored with her eclectic, figure-friendly twist.
Guests enjoyed dinner to the sounds of a live Spanish guitar and flamenco music. The space was beautifully styled by Wakako Takagi.
